Hawkeyes Fill Early Signing Day With 20 Newcomers; Tonight’s Sports Lineup – KCHA News

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz announced a class of 20 players for the early signing period.

One signee is New Hampton’s Noah Fenske.

The 254 pound 6’4 senior, Fenske led the Chickasaws with a team high nine tackles for loss,  22.5 tackles and one sack.

He says he’s got high expectations for the next level.

He helped the Chickasaws two playoff appearances, the first in 2016 and then a 2017 quarterfinal.

Hawkeye Sports Insider David Eickholt says Fenske adds to a solid class for Iowa and could be utilized on the offensive line down the road.

Ferentz says they also have four walk-ons and may add to the recruiting class during the February signing period.

Among the signees from Iowa is Cedar Falls linebacker Jack Campbell. Ferentz watched Campbell play basketball last week and says his enthusiasm stands out.

With recruiting over attention now shifts to the Outback Bowl against Mississippi State. Ferentz gave the players a few days off after Wednesday’s practice.

The Hawkeyes leave for Tampa on the 26th.

The Iowa State women raced out to a 27-8 lead at the end of one quarter in a 94-46 win over Prairie View [email protected] as the Cyclones improve to 9-2.
